Turkeys
Our turkeys are often overlooked but are incredibly social and curious birds. Each one has a distinct character, and they enjoy interacting with their environment and caregivers. This breed has a long history in the Americas dating back to the early 1500s. The beauty, productivity, and adaptability of the Spanish turkey has made it a favorite for centuries. Farmers appreciate its ability to thrive with minimal supplemental feeding while still maintaining excellent meat and egg production.
Black Spanish turkeys are one of the oldest heritage breeds. They are known their black plumage with a metallic sheen. This breed is both beautiful and functional, making it a great option for farmers or backyard enthusiasts looking for a reliable dual-purpose turkey.
Toms typically weigh 20–23 pounds, and hens weigh 12–14 pounds. Black Spanish turkeys are hardy, good foragers, and thrive in free-range environments. They are also excellent layers and they have flavorful, high-quality meat. Their calm and friendly nature also makes them easy handle and raise.

How to sponsor an animal
The most important thing we want you to feel after seeing our animals is a desire to help. To sponsor one of our amazing animals, please contact us directly by phone at [805-674-9665]. We will guide you through the process. Alternatively, you can support our mission by donating to sponsor an animal, helping us provide them with continued care. You can donate $25 to $100 a month or whatever you can afford and receive a special gift bag, a certificate of sponsorship, and a spotlight card detailing information about your chosen animal. Your donation directly impacts their well-being and future. Together, we can make a difference. You can call for an appointment to see the animal that you want to sponsor.
